Sleep Sack Size Chart — How to Size a Bamboo Sleep Sack for Your Baby

Choosing the right sleep sack size is important for both comfort and safety. A sleep sack that’s too large can pose a risk, while one that’s too small won’t allow enough room for natural leg movement. Here’s everything you need to know about sizing Cozy Crawlers bamboo sleep sacks.

Sleep Sack Size Chart

Size Weight Height Approximate Age
Small (S) 8–18 lbs Up to 26" 0–6 months
Medium (M) 16–26 lbs 26–31" 6–18 months
Large (L) 22–32 lbs 30–35" 18–36 months

How to Choose the Right Size

  • Go by weight first, then check height. For sleep sacks, a snug fit around the shoulders and chest is important for safety.
  • Overlapping sizes: If your baby is between sizes, consider whether they’re growing fast. If so, size up.
  • Room for legs: Sleep sacks should allow free hip and leg movement. This supports healthy hip development.

What is a TOG Rating?

TOG (Thermal Overall Grade) measures the warmth of a sleep sack. All Cozy Crawlers sleep sacks are TOG 1.0 — a lightweight, year-round rating ideal for most homes.

TOG Rating Room Temperature Best For
TOG 0.5 75– 80°F (24–27°C) Very warm rooms/summer
TOG 1.0 68–75°F (20–24°C) Year-round, standard home temps
TOG 2.5 61–68°F (16–20°C) Cooler rooms/winter
TOG 3.5 Below 61°F (16°C) Cold rooms

Why Bamboo for Sleep Sacks?

Bamboo viscose is the ideal sleep sack fabric because it’s naturally temperature-regulating — it breathes when your baby is warm and insulates when they’re cool. This reduces the risk of overheating, which is an important factor in safe infant sleep.

Our sleep sacks are made from 97% viscose from bamboo / 3% spandex with a two-way zipper for easy diaper changes at night.

Safe Sleep Reminder

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends sleep sacks as a safe alternative to loose blankets in the crib. Always ensure the neck opening fits snugly and the sack cannot ride up over baby’s face.
